PARMA 2064

Fidenza, Italy

In 2014, the Cooperativa Casearia Agrinascente launched the Parma2064 brand, bringing together five farms in the Po Valley: Cascina Margherita, La Rinascente Società Agricola, Società Agricola Colombarola, Società Agricola Fratelli Tonoli, and Società Agricola Vighi Mauro e Luigi. They are all within a 10 km radius of the facility. According to consortium rules, cows are fed only grass or locally made hay. This proximity ensures low food miles and milk that reaches the cheesemaker in peak condition, resulting in an exceptional final product.

Parma2064 Parmigiano Reggiano is defined by quality and control, merging technology and tradition. Every aspect—from the herds and farms to the cheesemaking and aging—is meticulously managed by the Agrinascente cooperative while adhering to the strict standards of the Consorzio del Formaggio Parmigiano Reggiano.

Their Parmigiano Reggiano D.O.P., branded 'Parma2064', is crafted using traditional techniques in a state-of-the-art facility in Fidenza, 15 km from Parma, Emilia-Romagna. Each 40 kg wheel is branded once the cheese is firm, with 'Parma 2064' reflecting the brand’s origins in the farmlands between Soragna and Busseto, once home to Giuseppe Verdi. The number 2064 is the ID for the first cooperative-managed dairy in Fidenza, assigned by the Consorzio del Formaggio Parmigiano Reggiano.
